The Vespa accelerates and decelerates through crowded city streets. Monie's mind slowly crawls through the events of the last two hours and eventually emerges at the present. She suddenly realizes that she has no idea where Hirlem is taking them and after guessing at their destination for a while, she decides to lean forward and ask him. The question begins to form in her head but never gets past her lips. Her attention is diverted by a group of teenagers standing on the sidewalk watching them drive by. The kids' stare pierces through her already thin layer of security and she feels fear creeping up her back.
As the group of kids slip into the distance, she notices some of the odd points about them. They were all dressed the same. Just different shades of the same color. And they all wore some kind of headphones. Then her mind makes an equation and her emotions turn to dread. She recognizes those headphones from the men in the elevator.
